Excitement was on the menu as we attended RestaurantPoint East, the conference of restaurant chain executives in quick serve, fast casual, and full service chains East of the Mississippi. The event was held September 29 – October 2 in Austin, TX.
RestaurantPoint East provides a focused format designed to maximize productivity by bringing together restaurant executives and suppliers who are looking to mutually expand their relationships and business. The focus of the event is on strategic partnerships and innovation in design, construction, and renovation. We love the concise format of this event and were happy to return for our second consecutive year, as the event is designed to make the most of everyone’s time through scheduled one-on-one meetings.
The opening ceremony was kicked off by Mark Schulman, drummer for Pink, Cher, Foreigner, and Billy Idol. Mark rocked the night as keynote speaker and talked about how important it is to maintain a positive attitude in life and in business: if you’re going through the world with the wrong attitude, then how can you expect to set yourself up for success? Mark’s energetic performance set the tone for the entire event, which he emphasized by saying, “Make each note count!” We couldn’t agree more.
We were on theme with the opening reception festivities in our “groovy” tie-dye shirts, which gave off the cool vibe of “Randal Retail Group: Creating the Grooviest Retail Experience One Restaurant at a Time.” Special thanks to Charles’s daughter for designing our custom shirts, and to @SandyRoginski for capturing our team in our hippest look to date.
The positive vibe of the opening night carried through to the rest of the show’s events, with everyone feeling very optimistic about the changes in the restaurant industry.
The restaurant industry remains strong as individuals and families with busy schedules look for convenience, healthier choices, mobile ordering capabilities, and delivery options. The strongest contenders in the business know that to stay competitive, they need to be nimble and responsive to consumer demands. And at Randal Retail Group, we’re right there to support our customers with kiosks, lockers, and mobile order units.
The big question in QSR and fast casual remains: how will kiosk manufacturers scramble to meet the industry’s demand to improve customer service and keep up with the newest technologies? We talked about this quite a bit in our one-on-one meetings, and we’re excited to be able to meet the changing needs of our customers’ unique needs in these areas. Being proactive and forward thinking has always been a key to our success at Randal Retail Group, and the cornerstone of our business partnerships.← Back to all posts
