The Philadelphia Independence Visitor Center just completed a $15 million renovation with a sweet stop: a new Hershey’s Kitchens Café. Randal Retail Group partnered with Event Network to design and build the custom store, which offers a unique chocolate experience to the 2.5 million annual patrons of the visitor center.
Opened in May 2019 at the visitor center at Sixth and Market Streets, the café serves s’mores made of full-size Hershey bars, custom marshmallows, and 4-by-4-inch graham crackers. The café also serves milkshakes, warm baked goods (made with more Hershey’s goodness, of course), coffee, and a selection of salads and sandwiches.
Randal Retail Group was responsible for the design and build of the kitchen cabinets, POS station, slatwall panels, countertops, ceiling trusses, parson table, and impulse bins. Check out more of the delicious news in this video via FOX29 Philadelphia.
Because Hershey is located in Pennsylvania and Milton Hershey started his first business in Philadelphia, setting up a Hershey Café at the visitor center was “a perfect marriage,” according to Suzanne Jones, vice president of the Hershey Experience (can we have that title?).
We’re thankful for our partnership with Event Network and the opportunity to work with Hershey on such a unique project that will be enjoyed by many. We call that a delicious partnership!
